Anti-Trump Street Art Collective VJayBombs Goes Viral as LA Becomes a Canvas of Protest

The group’s three co-founders—using the pseudonyms Ken, Bev, and Cat—described projecting an unauthorized, roughly 45-second looping animation onto the 100-foot-tall wall of the L.A. Downtown Medical Center near Echo Park Lake after Trump’s record-length State of the Union address, featuring satirical imagery and slogans such as “Immigrant Bad!” and “Forget the Files.” The collective began as filmmaker neighbors in a Koreatown apartment complex projecting visuals at parties, then shifted toward more controversial public messages. They first went political in June 2024 after Joe Biden’s debate performance, and later went viral with a downtown L.A. projection referencing “Hawk Tuah” and depicting the GOP bending a knee to Trump.
