Art Basel’s Parent Company, MCH Group, To Launch New Miami Festival in October

MCH Group, the parent company of Art Basel, is backing a new media-industry event called Jupiter Festival, with the inaugural edition planned for Miami in October at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Jupiter Festival CEO and co-founder William Mellis said the conference aims to convene senior leaders to debate the “seismic” changes in video content and to function as a delegate-focused networking event that can sit alongside gatherings such as CES, Cannes Lions, and Possible. Announced speakers include Tribeca Enterprises CEO Rebecca Glashow, Fox One chief Pete Distad, Inside the NBA host Kenny Smith, YouTube’s Brian Albert, and former 60 Minutes executive producer Bill Owens, with additional figures such as Evan Shapiro cited as the kind of participant who may “challenge and provoke” the industry.
