Artist Michelangelo Pistoletto sends message of 'preventive peace' on digital billboards around the world
Italian Arte Povera artist Michelangelo Pistoletto launched Three Mirrors, a global digital-billboard project organized by the UK-based platform Circa, centered on his concept of “preventive peace.” Beginning 1 April 2026, the works screen daily at 20:26 local time on London’s Piccadilly Lights and in cities including Los Angeles, Accra, Abidjan, Casablanca, Hong Kong, and Seoul, running through 30 June; Milan and Rome screenings begin 24 April. The trilogy—Formula of Creation, Statodellarte, and Third Paradise—was filmed at Cittadellarte: Fondazione Pistoletto in Biella and features drawings made directly on large mirror sheets. Circa founder Josef O’Connor said signed editions accompany the project, with 20% of proceeds supporting Circa and the Pistoletto foundation’s public and educational programs, plus a donation to the United Nations Global Emergency Response Fund.
