Artists create Fifa World Cup posters denouncing presence of US immigration agents

Ahead of the 2026 Fifa World Cup (11 June–19 July 2026) in the United States, Canada, and Mexico, artists from 10 of the 11 US host cities created downloadable posters opposing the presence of US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) at matches. The initiative, titled “No Ice in the Cup,” was launched on 6 May by the Horizons Project and is led by organizer Paola Mendoza, who said it aims to motivate public action through art. Poster contributors include Chris Stewart (Los Angeles), Hana Natsuhara (Seattle), Johann C. Muñoz-Tapasco (Miami), and Cristy Road Carrera (New York), and the group encourages the public to “download, remix, adapt” the designs. The campaign cites a Washington Post–University of Maryland poll dated 4 June reporting that nearly two thirds of Americans oppose ICE agents being present at World Cup stadiums.
