Chanel Culture Fund Partners with Dib Bangkok on Inaugural Chanel Gateway Commission
Chanel’s Culture Fund has partnered with Thailand’s contemporary art museum Dib Bangkok to launch the annual Chanel Gateway Commission, selecting a Southeast Asian artist each year to create a large-scale work for display at the museum. Dib Bangkok, founded by collector Purat “Chang” Osathanugrah, opened in December 2025 with a 1,000-piece collection, and is Chanel’s first art partner in Southeast Asia. The inaugural commission goes to Thai artist Nawin Nuthong for Project 147, a multimedia installation and interactive video game with screen-based imagery and six player consoles, drawing on an ancient Thai folk story. The work will be on view at Dib Bangkok from September 26 to May 3, 2027, as part of Chanel’s broader program collaborating with more than 50 cultural institutions across 15 countries.
