Citing Epstein Ties, Wexner Union Demands Leslie Wexner’s Name be Dropped from Art Center

The union representing workers at the Wexner Center for the Arts has asked Ohio State University leadership to remove Leslie Wexner’s name from the institution, citing his documented ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Wexner Workers United said it sent a formal letter to the university president, provost, and board of trustees requesting that the Wexner name be removed from the building facade and that a renaming process begin. The letter claims Wexner’s name appears more than 1,300 times in the US Department of Justice’s “Epstein files,” and argues that staff face daily harassment and that some artists refuse to work with the center because of the association. The union pointed to precedents including the Louvre’s 2019 removal of the Sackler name and similar actions by the Metropolitan Museum of Art and other institutions in subsequent years.
