Dallas Invitational to Expand to London for Frieze Week
ARTnews reports that dealer James Cope is expanding his invite-only Dallas Invitational to the UK with a London Invitational timed to open during Frieze Week next month. Cope launched the Dallas Invitational four years ago to create a smaller, more convivial alternative to large convention-center art fairs, selecting participants through relationships rather than an application process. The inaugural London edition will have 12 exhibitors—10 from the US (including François Ghebaly, Lomex, Mariano, and Bel Ami) and two from London, including Vardaxoglou, founded in 2020 and known for mounting the first solo show of Turner Prize nominee Tanoa Sasraku. The London event will be held at the Chancery Rosewood in Mayfair, a former US Embassy on Grosvenor Square renovated by David Chipperfield and reopened last September. In Dallas, the fair moved in 2025 to the Mansion on Turtle Creek (a Rosewood property), hosting 15 galleries in its first year there and expanding to 22 exhibitors this past April after adding a second floor.
