FBI Executes Search on Blue-Chip Gallery That May Be Owned by Notorious Philadelphia Collector
The FBI executed a search warrant on Wednesday at Dane Fine Art, a gallery in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, though authorities did not disclose the reason beyond calling it “court-authorized law enforcement activity,” according to CBS Philadelphia. Philadelphia magazine reporter Victor Fiorillo reported seeing multiple agents enter and exit the building, and afterward a gallery employee told him the gallery was closed for the day but did not know why. Ownership of Dane Fine Art is unclear, but Fiorillo found incorporation documents listing a mailing address tied to a property once owned by Leslie Isen, wife of collector Nathan “Nicky” Isen, who pleaded guilty in 2015 to money laundering involving art. Dane Fine Art’s website lists blue-chip artists such as Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, Alex Katz, Ellsworth Kelly, Keith Haring, Henri Matisse, and Jean-Michel Basquiat, and it held an online auction on Thursday titled “Dog Days of Summer Modern & Contemporary Sale.”
