Juliana Huxtable and Mark Bradford in Major Gift to the Zimmerli Art Museum
Collectors Anne and Arthur Goldstein have donated more than 70 works of modern and contemporary art to the Zimmerli Art Museum at Rutgers University in New Jersey, the museum announced on Wednesday, July 15. The gift includes works by Robert Rauschenberg and Laura Aguilar, a painted skateboard, and Mark Bradford’s photographic series of hairstyles, as well as Juliana Huxtable’s inkjet print Untitled in the Rage (Nibiru Cataclysm) (2015) and Troy Lamarr Chew II’s oil painting Corrlinks and Jaypay/Free My Dawgs (2021). Other artists named in the donation include Tauba Auerbach, Nicole Eisenman, Kunié Sugiura, and John Waters. The works are scheduled to be shown with paintings donated by the Alex Katz Foundation in an exhibition titled Mashup: New Acquisitions from the Zimmerli in February 2027, with chief curator Jeremiah William McCarthy describing the show as a chance to draw “unexpected connections” across the museum’s holdings.
