Leonardo Drew Joins Hauser & Wirth for Worldwide Representation

Sculptor Leonardo Drew has joined Hauser & Wirth for worldwide representation, the gallery announced on Monday, and it will debut his new work Number 451 at Art Basel this week. Drew’s first solo exhibition with Hauser & Wirth is planned for New York in fall 2027. Known for transforming weathered wood, metal, paper, and other materials into large installations about destruction and renewal, Drew’s work is held by institutions including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, MoMA, the Hirshhorn, and Tate, and he recently realized the public project City in the Grass in Madison Square Park. Drew was born in Tallahassee, Florida, raised in Bridgeport, Connecticut, first exhibited at age 13, studied at Cooper Union, and was mentored by artist Jack Whitten; he now lives and works between Brooklyn and San Antonio.
