Man Charged in Theft of More Than 600 Artifacts from UK’s Bristol Museum
British authorities have charged a suspect following a “high-value burglary” at the Bristol Museum in the UK that involved more than 600 objects, ARTnews reported, citing the BBC. Dean Hall, 41, of Redcliffe, Bristol, was charged with handling stolen goods, granted unconditional bail, and is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court on 17 August. Police said the investigation remains ongoing into the September burglary, which targeted the museum’s British Empire and Commonwealth Collection and included items such as military badges, East India Company pins, and carved Buddha statues. In December, police appealed for information about four suspects seen on security-camera footage, and reports said the museum tightened security after the theft.
