Painter Lucy Bull Joins Hauser & Wirth as Her Market Continues Its Ascent
Painter Lucy Bull has joined mega-gallery Hauser & Wirth, which operates 16 spaces across three continents, while continuing representation with David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles and New York, which has shown her since 2021. Bull is known for vibrantly colored abstract paintings made over long periods using techniques such as frottage and automatism, and her work can reach monumental scale, including a 39-foot-long painting shown at the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami in 2024. Her secondary-market profile has surged, with an auction record of $2.4 million set in 2024 and a 2025 sale at Sotheby’s Hong Kong for $1.55 million—more than three times its estimate. Hauser & Wirth will show a new Bull painting at Art Basel Paris next month and plans a solo exhibition for her in Zurich in June 2027.
