Performa Is Bringing a Star-Studded Variety Show to Broadway
Performa will stage its first public, single-night Broadway-style fundraiser, the Performa All-Star Variety Show, at New York’s Town Hall on June 10. The 90-minute, 12-act event will be hosted by comedian and writer Casey Jost and will feature artists including Barbara Kruger, Julio Torres, Anne Imhoff, and Marcel Dzama, alongside Performa alumni such as Alexa West, Laurie Simmons, and Lonnie Holley. Founder RoseLee Goldberg said the show draws on vaudeville and Futurist “serates” and is intended as an alternative to a traditional gala while making Performa performances accessible to a wider audience. Town Hall, a 1,500-seat venue built in 1919 for the League for Political Education, will host the program.
