Refik Anadol’s AI Art Museum DATALAND Will Open in Los Angeles in June
ARTnews reports that DATALAND, a museum dedicated to AI art co-founded by Refik Anadol and Efsun Erkılıç, will open in Los Angeles on June 20, 2026, in the Grand LA complex designed by Frank Gehry. The museum will contain five gallery spaces totaling 25,000 square feet, plus an additional 10,000 square feet dedicated to the technology and hardware needed for large-scale digital works. Its inaugural exhibition, “Machine Dreams: Rainforest,” a Refik Anadol Studio project using an AI model trained on ecological datasets, will run through January 31, 2027. The museum will also feature an “Infinity Room” incorporating a 1987 recording of an extinct Hawaiian bird species and AI-generated scents, and membership is listed as starting at $350 per year, with ticketing details not yet posted.
