Studio 54 Fine Art Is Betting on a More Nimble Gallery Model
Artnet News reports that Studio 54 Fine Art, founded in Milan in 2016 by director Gary Williamson, is pursuing a flexible gallery model without a permanent brick-and-mortar space. The gallery stages exhibitions in rotating locations and also works privately to connect collectors with specific artworks. It is currently presenting “Empire of Silence: The Untamed Majesty of Rowan Blackwell,” featuring new and recent works focused on animals, on view through August 31. Williamson says his prior career spanning luxury goods, property investment, and high-net-worth clients shaped the gallery’s emphasis on quality, provenance, and long-term value, and he notes an early £250,000 ($335,800) placement and a first acquisition of a David Yarrow lion photograph.
