Taiwan Presents “Screen Melancholy: Li Yi-Fan” at the Venice Biennale

Taipei Fine Arts Museum will present the Taiwan Collateral Event Screen Melancholy: Li Yi-Fan at the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia from May 9 to November 22, 2026, at the Palazzo delle Prigioni. The exhibition features a new installation by Taiwanese artist Li Yi-Fan, curated by Raphael Fonseca of Culturgest (Lisbon and Porto), examining how screens and internet-era technologies shape perception and human experience. The project responds to the Biennale Arte 2026 theme, In Minor Keys, and will integrate video, sound, mixed media, and large customized sculptures of fragmented limbs throughout the entire venue. The museum describes it as its first full-space installation at Palazzo delle Prigioni since it began exhibiting there in 1995.
