V&A reveals 2027 exhibitions, ranging from South Asian contemporary art and textiles to punk music and fashion

The Victoria and Albert (V&A) museum network announced its 2027 exhibition programme across three sites in London and Dundee. At the new V&A East Museum in Stratford (opened April 2026), “South Asia Now: Fashion. Art. Design.” opens 24 April 2027 with more than 200 works highlighting creativity rooted in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, including pieces by Amesh Wijesekera and works by Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Gauri Gill, Aisha Khalid, and Munem Wasif. At V&A South Kensington, “Punk to Pop” opens 13 March 2027 with around 300 objects covering 1972–1985 and referencing bands including Joy Division, the Sex Pistols, and Wham!, followed by “Sculpture in Clay: British Ceramics 1985 to Now” (29 May 2027) and “Chintz” (18 September 2027), drawing on the V&A collection and loans from collector Karun Thakar. V&A Dundee will stage “Vivienne Westwood & Jewellery” opening 26 March 2027, examining how Westwood (who died in 2022) used jewellery within her designs.
