Vancouver Art Gallery gifted more than 800 photographs by Stephen Shore

On 26 February 2026, the Vancouver Art Gallery announced a gift of more than 800 photographs by Stephen Shore from the Chan family, largely from Shore’s landmark “Uncommon Places” series (1973–81). Selections from the gift will go on view starting 27 March 2026, and interim CEO and curator-at-large Eva Respini said the donation makes the VAG one of the largest museum holders of Shore’s work worldwide.
