Venice Biennale 2026: all the national pavilions, artists and curators so far
The Art Newspaper compiled the national-pavilion announcements made so far for the 61st International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia, which opens 9 May 2026 and runs through 22 November 2026 across the Giardini, Arsenale, and other Venice venues. The main exhibition will follow the curatorial plan set out by the late Koyo Kouoh. Early pavilion announcements listed include Australia (artist Khaled Sabsabi; organisers Michael Dagostino and Creative Australia), Austria (Florentina Holzinger; organiser Nora-Swantje Almes and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, the Civil Service and Sport), the Bahamas (Lavar Munroe and John Beadle; organiser Krista Thompson and partner institutions), Belgium (Miet Warlop; organiser Caroline Dumalin and the Flemish Community of Belgium), Brazil (Rosana Paulino and Adriana Varejão; organiser Diane Lima with Fundação Bienal de São Paulo and ministries), Canada (Abbas Akhavan; organiser Kim Nguyen and the National Gallery of Canada), Cyprus (Marina Xenofontos; organiser Kyle Dancewicz), and the Czech Republic and Slovakia (Jakub Jansa and Selmeci Kocka Jusko; organiser Peter Sit and partner institutions).
