Venice Biennale’s 2026 Golden Lion Jury to Be Led by Videobrasil Founder

The Venice Biennale named a five-member jury to award the Golden Lions at the 2026 Art Biennale, led by president Solange Oliveira Farkas, founder of the Videobrasil Biennial (São Paulo, founded 1983). The other jurors are curator Zoe Butt, art historian Giovanna Zapperi, curator and former MACBA director Elvira Dyangani Ose (who resigned in February over a conflict-of-interest ruling tied to the 2027 Public Art Abu Dhabi Biennial), and Yale School of Art professor and former dean Marta Kuzma (dean 2016–2021). The jury will vote on two Golden Lions—Best National Participation and Best Participant in the International Exhibition—plus a Silver Lion for a promising young participant, and may also award special mentions. The 2026 Biennale’s curator is Koyo Kouoh, who typically selects the jury for each edition.
