YouTube’s First Video Acquired by London’s V&A
London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) has acquired “Me at the zoo” (2005), the first video ever uploaded to YouTube. The 19-second clip was posted on April 23, 2005, by YouTube co-founder Jawed Karim and is widely regarded as a landmark of early online video culture. Artnet News reported the acquisition on February 18, 2026.
